We follow the teachings of the Eternal Shakyamuni Buddha as set forth in the Lotus Sutra and the teachings of our founder <a href="nichirenbio.html">Nichiren Shonin</a>. Our main practice is chanting the Odaimoku (Great Title) of the Lotus Sutra, &#8220;Namu Myoho Renge Kyo.&#8221;<br><br> Services are held at the temple most Sundays at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Dharma school for children at 11:30 a.m.<br><br> <b><font color="black"><center> What's New</center></font></b><br> On Saturday, May 19, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Michael Dylan Welch of <a href="https://sites.google.com/site/haikunorthwest/Home" target="_blank"> Haiku Northwest</a> will conduct a haiku workshop at the temple. If you are interested in attending, please contact us to reserve a spot. <br><br> On Saturday, June 30, members and friends of the temple will participate in the 22nd Annual Walk for Rice. Walk for Rice raises funds to enable Asian Counseling and Referral Service (ACRS) to buy rice and provide support services for the ACRS Food Bank. Afterwards we were invited in for refreshments by members of Fa Sheng temple, a Chinese Buddhist temple on South Weller. Please click <a href="photos-earth12.html">here</a> to see pictures. <br><br> On March 3, 2012, the board of the Nichiren Buddhist Order of North America (NONA) voted to approve Seattle Choeizan Enkyoji Nichiren Buddhist Temple's application for membership. This is an important development for our temple, and we are grateful to the board members who supported us.<br><br> Choiezan Enkyoji is the sponsor of this year's NONA retreat which will be held at Frog Creek Lodge in Lakebay, Washington, from August 3 through August 9, 2012.
